How do we anticipate change so we don't miss out on opportunities or feel blindsided if we lose a job? First, get clear on what you really need to follow. What do you want to be known for? What trends, industries, geographies matter most?

You can't stay up on it all...so be selective. Second, use what already exists. You don't have to create the wheel. Find the professional associations and news sources that offer credible, focused information so you aren't overwhelmed, inundated with negativity, or spending time going to seek out information.
Lastly, find people you can talk with about the trends. This will help you reality-check what you're reading, watching, and hearing while building your network! Zoom or real-life conversations are best and engaging in comments within professional communities or social media is beneficial as well.
Watch your emotional reactions to trends. When we discount something too quickly it can be from fear, not a reality that it isn't a trend! Will AI replace coaches? I don't know, but it I say, "that isn't possible," it is likely a fear response and not helpful when it comes to staying on top of the trend and being agile to stay relevant in the future of work.
