Have you ever been mistaken for someone else?
We had quite the fiasco last week adopting our newest family member – Saturn Blackclaw Birthday [guinea] Pig.
We went in on a Sunday and the boys picked out the little one and sat with her. She was very cuddly right away, which was surprising with two little boys squealing over her.
We went back the next day to adopt her, and the humane society said the name was “Oreo” not Saturn.
The name was not important, we knew we wanted the little pig the boys had held.
So, we adopt the little one and took her home. |

The next morning, the humane society calls to confirm the pig we had adopted was indeed Saturn, not Oreo. What led to this confusion? One, a very busy office with 6+ guinea pigs waiting for adoption. Two, the use of black and white photos on their animal adoption cards. Where most would have missed the lesson, as a personal branding strategist I saw right away -- the use of black and white photos had hidden the little pigs' distinctive brands!
