Susan and I had such a great time talking about the role of skills, passion, and purpose in career success on Trend Tuesday this week! It's fascinating to see the different structures arising to make purpose more tangible for companies and how that can benefit the work we do. Have you talked with your clients about purpose? What, if any, of the structures in the articles we shared from McKinsey do you think might be helpful?
Susan talked a bit about "purpose anxiety" -- what people experience when they feel left out because they don't know their purpose. This also happens in the area of passion.

We discussed how she and I view purpose and passion as verbs -- something you create or uncover, not as something you are going out to find or expecting a company or role to give to you. It's one of the reasons I chose @workwithpurpose as my Twitter handle 15+ years ago...if we focus on bringing purpose to or uncovering the purpose in everything we do we have more agency and usually more satisfaction. These two elements are just a part of the whole we discuss with job seekers and career changers. And that's just the internal elements! They also need to understand their target audience and how to communicate who they are in a way that connects the dots.
