"Where there is awareness there is growth." - Calm App Reflection

Occasionally second-place does win the day.

The last two houses my spouse and I have purchased were only available because an initial buyer backed out of the deal.

If you haven't heard the news...we had a bit of a mid-stream change-up and will close on a house in Broomfield, Colorado, on June 30th.

After visiting the Minnesota office for his new team, my spouse saw only 1% of the office was actually at the office on the "in office" day and decided to work remotely instead of moving to be in person.

A house was for sale in his mom's neighborhood and we put in an offer. It had been on the market 40 days (about 4X the current average) because someone else had walked away from the deal.

In business and in job search, the same is often true.

Even after a client chooses a service provider, they may circle back around to you if they have a bad experience or need something further.

When our clients don't get the job, there is a 60% chance that role will be open again within a year.

How do we position ourselves to win these opportunities (without feeling desperate or wasting too much time)? Follow-up systems!

Job seekers can put a system in place to stay in touch with good contacts at companies that interest them. In fact, many of our colleagues have told stories of people getting jobs after many failed attempts due to continuing the conversation and focusing on relationships.

Business owners can create systems to follow up with prospects and offer valuable information while keeping the door open for a future conversation.

What systems do you have to consistently follow-up? What systems do you help your clients create? Please reply and let me know! I'd love to hear what you see as helpful for yourself and your clients.

This is one of my favorite aspects of our new Social Media for Job Search Strategist program. Understanding how social media can be a tool for staying in touch and intentionally building relationships for long-term career and business success.

We may not have a rolodex anymore, but social media tools can serve a powerful role in building and maintaining relationships - online and off!

Recruiters are diversifying the social media tools they use to find candidates. Are your coaching tools keeping up?

According to the latest Jobvite study, recruiters are increasingly using Facebook, Instagram, and even TikTok to find job seekers. If our clients are only focused on getting found on LinkedIn, they are missing out on opportunities to connect with their target companies.

Of course, LinkedIn is a powerful tool for job seekers. But optimizing a profile is just the start. They don't want to sit around waiting to get found! Help them use LinkedIn and other social tools to make connections and become known so they are the referred candidate for their ideal jobs.

In 4 weeks, this program will give you strategies most coaches aren't using to help job seekers get hired faster by identifying the channels where they can engage with target companies and using processes, scripts, and other tools to execute their search.

Classes will be recorded and students will have lifetime access to recordings.

                          Week 1: Strategy & LinkedIn (July 13, 2:00-3:30 ET)

                          • Optimizing LinkedIn, Facebook, IG & Twitter Profiles ** NOTE: This is not a writing class. We will focus on more proactive search strategies while touching on profile optimization (and giving you a checklist to optimize it!)

                          Week 2: LinkedIn & Twitter (July 20, 2:00-3:30 ET)
