“Patience is a virtue.” How many times have we heard or said this? My sons are too young to understand it, so it isn’t a common phrase in our household…yet I’m sure it will have its day.
It is true?
While there are certainly occasions where patience is important in our communication and action, there are other times where patience may mean we miss out.
When we were trying to buy a house two years ago, this was the case and is even more so for buyers in many areas of the US today.
In this situation, patience is balanced with taking quick action and then being patient to see how the situation unfolds.

Lightning-fast action was required to put offers on houses to have a chance at winning, and then patience took a front seat as we waited to hear back and then repeated the process (thankfully only a few times before we got lucky).
So how do we know when to “be patient” and when to take that action, even if it seems a little bit risky?

It was a risk for CTL to plan an in-person Symposium this year. And it was important for our community to pave the way for what we know are life-changing opportunities.

In this certification and training program, you will learn how to help clients access an opportunity to serve their country while gaining employment with strong benefits, stability, and a reliable schedule.
Helping a client apply for a position with the federal government is much different than applying for a position in the private sector. Most federal positions are posted on USAJOBS (USAJOBS.gov) and most postings require that applicants apply through the system.
It is important that federal resume writers understand how the system works so they can properly advise their clients. This program, developed and taught by former federal HR professional Nancy Segal, will take you step-by-step through the federal application and resume development process. Group rates are available.
