Online Identity Integration Is Here and is the Tip of the Iceberg in the Rapidly Expanding Use of Social Media for Career Growth
Job seekers and career managers will no longer be able to bypass managing their online identity. The entire integration of personal brand and career communications across multiple social media platforms requires that everyone be a continual career manager—”CEO of Brand You!” Biz Stone, cofounder of Twitter, notes “… More and more people are finding the persona [they] create for themselves on the Web is part of their resume.” Those who ignore the integration of their online identity with an employer/job/industry-specific value proposition will be hobbled in their job search and career momentum. Focus yourself on social media integration and regain control of your career!

In Social Media, a Powerful Branded Pitch Will be More Important than your Resume
Without a strong pitch, you’re not speaking the language of employers. The foundation of your career communication conversation is your branded, value-rich pitch. In fact, it’s your 140- to 160-character power-packed Twitpitch or Twitter bio, tied to a robust online presence via Twitter, Linkedin, Facebook, etc. If you can’t get someone interested in talking to you with a Twitpitch, you’re not ready to start your resume, or to network, job search, or interview. According to Stowe Boyd, social media guru and inventor of the phrase, “…I want companies to get their story down to a one-liner ‘escalator’ pitch … which is going to force them to drop the superlatives and buzzwords and get to the heart of the matter.” If companies can do it, why not job seekers? In today’s fast-paced, content-slim world, it’s a must!
